Stella Bagot was born in the Essequibo region of Guyana, South America. She was educated in Guyana, in the U.S.A, and in England. She has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Education. For many years, she taught English at secondary and post-secondary levels in Guyana, Nigeria, and the U.S.A. She emigrated to the United States in 1990 and has since lived in Maryland. Formally retired, she now tutors English virtually.
